South Fried London On-going

Southern Fried London is an on-going project depicting the vast amounts of fast food chains (in particular Fried Chicken) there are in the London/United Kingdom. In a age where obesity in the United Kingdom is at an all time high, I find it astonishing that there are so many chain restaurants that off cheap unhealthy meals for as little as £2.99.

It's clear that the Governmant is concerned about the levels of obesity in the United Kingdom, rolling out such campagins as 'Change4Life', a scheme to promote healthy living & eating. According to the HSE "...the latest Health Survey for England (HSE) data shows us that nearly 1 in 4 adults, and over 1 in 10 children aged 2-10, are obese." These are very worrying statistics and are only going to increase over time.

With Government funded commissioned projects which took place in 2007, their research lead to that if no action was taken now "...60% of men, 50% of women and 25% of children would be obese by 2050." It's clear that obesity has got a grip on our country and it's not letting go.
